Which The Eminence in Shadow Character Are You?

Learn More About The Eminence in Shadow

The Eminence in Shadow flips the usual isekai hero story. Cid Kagenou is a reborn protagonist who does not want to be the chosen hero. He wants to be the secret mastermind, the figure who pulls the strings from behind the curtain, and he commits to that fantasy with total seriousness.

The comedy comes from the gap between what Cid thinks he is doing and what actually happens. He invents a shadowy organization called Shadow Garden and plays the role of its dark leader, while the people around him take every dramatic line completely literally and build an actual conspiracy around it.

That is where the supporting cast shines. The members of Shadow Garden each bring a distinct personality: Alpha is the composed, capable leader of the group, Beta is the bookish storyteller, Delta is the high-energy fighter and Epsilon is the clever, graceful problem solver. Their devotion is sincere even when Cid is making it up as he goes.

The show is also a love letter to fantasy action. Stylish fights, huge set pieces and a glowing swordplay look give it the feel of a big-budget epic, while the humor keeps it light.

It works well as a personality quiz because the characters are so clearly drawn. You are probably the type who either loves the spotlight, runs the show behind the scenes, or just wants to enjoy the chaos.
