Season 2 picked up ten months after the first, forcing the show to navigate cast changes — Dr. Samira Mohan's actress exited after two seasons, while Ayesha Harris, who plays senior resident Dr. Parker Ellis, was promoted to series regular.

Wyle has already teased where season 3 is headed: a jump into late fall, likely November, specifically because winter brings a different caseload. “In the wintertime you get more car accidents, more black ice, more boilers exploding,” he told PEOPLE at PaleyFest LA, promising a different wardrobe and a different vibe entirely.
