Which Party Down Character Are You?

Learn More About Party Down

Party Down is the cult comedy that follows a crew of struggling actors, writers, and dreamers who work for a Los Angeles catering company. Created by John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd, the series first aired on Starz in 2009 and ran for two seasons before being cancelled, only to build a loyal following over the years.

The premise is simple but endlessly flexible. Each episode drops the team into a different event, from a high school reunion to a celebrity wake to a sweet sixteen, and the clash between wealthy clients and underpaid staff delivers laughs and surprising heart. The show is famous for its improvisational energy and its willingness to let awkward moments breathe.

Adam Scott plays Henry Pollard, a former actor best known for a beer commercial catchphrase who is trying to start over. Ken Marino is Ron Donald, the team leader who treats catering like a calling. Lizzy Caplan plays Casey Klein, whose sarcastic wit hides a lot of vulnerability, and Ryan Hansen brings sunshine to Kyle Bradway, the aspiring actor who is somehow always upbeat. Martin Starr rounds out the early cast as Roman DeBeers, while Jane Lynch joins as the unforgettable Constance Carmell.

Critics have been generous throughout. The first season holds a high score on Rotten Tomatoes, the second reached a perfect rating, and the 2023 revival season returned to warm reviews. For many fans, it is one of the best workplace comedies of its era, even though it never had a huge audience on air.

That reputation has helped it find new viewers on streaming, where the show keeps resurfacing in conversations about comfort comedies. It is also a show about trying to figure out who you are when life does not go to plan. That is exactly what makes the character quiz so fun: each result is a different way of coping with disappointment, ambition, and the occasional free appetizer.
