Which Amphibia Character Are You?

Learn More About Amphibia

Amphibia is an animated adventure comedy from Disney Channel, created by Matt Braly. It follows thirteen-year-old Anne Boonchuy, who is magically transported to a swampy world of anthropomorphic frogs and must learn how to survive, protect her new friends, and find a way home. The show premiered in 2019 and ran for three seasons, ending in 2022 after a loved and unusually emotional storyline.

When Anne arrives in Wartwood, she meets the Plantar family: the endlessly cheerful Sprig, his sister Polly, and their wise, grouchy grandfather Hop Pop. They take her in, and the town’s quirky residents become her found family. Anne also eventually reunites with her best friends Marcy Wu and Sasha Waybright, who each arrive in Amphibia in different circumstances and develop in surprising ways.

What makes Amphibia stand out is its emotional ambition. Behind the humor, the series explores friendship, loyalty, and what it means to grow up. The shifting dynamic among Anne, Sasha, and Marcy is one of the most praised parts of the series, particularly as it deals with jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness.

The villains add depth as well. Captain Grime, the disciplined leader of the Newtopian forces, is more nuanced than he first seems, and King Andrias, the mysterious ruler, becomes central to the show’s big reveals. The cast is also supported by hilarious side characters, including Frobo, Maddie Flour, and Percy.

The show has an impressively detailed design. The amphibian characters have exaggerated but expressive animation, and the world is full of references that make fans want to rewatch for details. It has also drawn a passionate fandom that continues to share art and theories years after the finale.
