Which Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew Character Are You?

Greta Gerwig's long-awaited Chronicles of Narnia adaptation finally has a title, a cast, and a release date. Narnia: The Magician's Nephew arrives in IMAX previews February 10, 2027, a wide theatrical release February 12, and on Netflix April 2, 2027, with Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Emma Mackey, and Denise Gough leading a cast that also includes Ciarán Hinds, Susan Wokoma, and newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell.

Gerwig, who wrote, directed, and produced the film, has described a lifelong connection to the source material: "I was a child when I first read The Magician's Nephew, and I fell in love with the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life," she said in a statement. The novel, published in 1955 as the sixth of C.S. Lewis's seven Narnia books, is set a thousand years before The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and tells the origin story of Narnia itself, including how Jadis first entered Aslan's newly created world.

Composer Andrew Wyatt, co-writing the film's music with Mark Ronson, has already previewed the tone fans can expect: "I know the story and I love the story. And Greta of course is doing it in her own way and it's going to be different."
