Created by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), Alien: Earth is a prequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi classic, set two years before the original film's events. The series follows Wendy (Sydney Chandler), a terminally ill girl whose consciousness is transferred into an adult synthetic body, making her the first successful human-synthetic hybrid — just as a doomed research vessel crash-lands on Earth carrying multiple alien specimens.

Timothy Olyphant co-stars as Kirsh, a synthetic overseeing Wendy and a group of other child-hybrids, while Babou Ceesay plays Morrow, a company loyalist whose priorities clash with the scientists trying to understand what's been unleashed. The series marks the Alien franchise's first venture into television, expanding the mythology's exploration of corporate exploitation and what it means to be human.

Alien: Earth premiered August 12, 2025 on FX and Hulu to widespread critical acclaim, with several cast members receiving awards attention for their performances. Hawley has described the show as using the franchise's body-horror roots to dig into questions of identity and consciousness in ways the films never fully explored.
