Director Kitao Sakurai brings Capcom's legendary fighting game to the big screen with a live-action adaptation that leans heavily on the World Warrior Tournament storyline fans have known since 1991. Set in the early '90s, the film follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) as they're pulled back together when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for a tournament that turns out to hide a much bigger conspiracy underneath it.

The cast reads like a roll call of the franchise's most iconic roster: Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as the villainous M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and WWE star Roman Reigns making his film debut as the demon-fueled Akuma. Early looks at the costumes and character work have drawn comparisons to the games' most beloved designs, a deliberate departure from the loosely-adapted 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme version.

Street Fighter arrives in theaters October 16, 2026, landing in the same packed fall lineup as several other video game adaptations chasing the genre's recent box office momentum.
