Pluribus has quickly become one of Apple TV's biggest sci-fi successes, holding a place among the platform's top 10 most-watched titles months after its Season 1 finale. Created by Vince Gilligan, the writer behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the series stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, one of the few people on Earth immune to a mysterious virus that transforms the rest of humanity into a peaceful, blissfully content hive mind known as The Joined.

Seehorn won an Emmy for her performance in the first season, and the show has earned a stunning 99% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the most acclaimed series of the year. Much of that acclaim centers on Karolina Wydra's performance as Zosia, one of The Joined, whose warmth toward Carol becomes genuinely unsettling once it becomes clear that consent is not really part of their plan. Season 2 has already been confirmed, though fans should expect a wait similar to the gaps between seasons of Severance.
