Which Off Campus Character Are You?

Learn More About Off Campus

Off Campus is an American romantic drama series created by Louisa Levy for Prime Video. It is based on the Off-Campus book series by author Elle Kennedy, which follows a group of hockey players and the women in their lives at the fictional Briar University. The TV adaptation premiered in 2026, with a launch event held in Los Angeles on April 29 of that year.

The first season centers on Hannah Wells, played by Ella Bright, a music major at Briar. Hannah is a songwriter who is guarded about her feelings, and her love of music and her wariness about romance are what make her such a relatable lead. In the show she is drawn to Justin Kohl, a musician and lead singer played by Josh Heuston.

Opposite her is Garrett Graham, played by Belmont Cameli. Garrett is the junior captain of the Briar hockey team, and his struggling grades mean he needs tutoring. That setup leads to the fake-dating arrangement that drives the first season, a classic romance trope the series plays with warmth and humor. Garrett also has a famous hockey family background, and his father Phil is played by Steve Howey.

Garrett’s teammates and housemates make up much of the show’s ensemble. Stephen Thomas Kalyn plays Dean Di Laurentis, the wealthy senior with a playboy reputation. Antonio Cipriano plays John Logan, Garrett’s best friend and teammate, and Jalen Thomas Brooks plays John Tucker, the team member known as the resident chef. Together they give the hockey house its chaotic, close-knit energy.

Mika Abdalla plays Allie Hayes, Hannah’s best friend, whose own love story develops alongside Dean’s storyline. Allie gives the series its heart on the friendship side, and her scenes with Hannah balance out the hockey-centered plotlines. Julia Sarah Stone also appears as Jules Logan, an original character for the series who is Logan’s younger sister at Briar.

Fans of the books will notice that the series is an adaptation rather than a page-for-page retelling, and it expands the ensemble so more of the supporting characters get screen time. The books are known for their snappy banter, sports setting, and slow-burn emotional payoffs, all of which the show aims to carry onto the screen.

Another reason the setup works is the way it mixes sports and campus life. Practices, games, classes, house parties, and late-night songwriting all share the same small world, so every character is constantly running into the people who matter most to them. Hannah’s music gives her a private space away from the rink, while Garrett’s role as captain puts him in the spotlight, and the contrast between those two lives is part of what makes their dynamic interesting.

The supporting cast adds plenty of personality too. Khobe Clarke appears as Beau Maxwell, the football team quarterback and a close friend of Dean, and Charlie Evans plays Hunter Davenport, a freshman hockey player with a contentious relationship with Dean. These smaller storylines help the world of Briar feel lived in, and they give viewers even more characters to compare themselves to.
