Learn More About Lucky
Apple TV+'s Lucky is a crime thriller built around a great hook: a con artist forced to run from both the FBI and a dangerous crime family after a heist goes wrong. Anya Taylor-Joy stars as the title character, a thief whose entire life gets upended the moment a multimillion-dollar job falls apart.
The show is based on Marissa Stapley's 2021 novel of the same name, and it leans hard into the tension of Lucky being hunted from multiple directions at once — by law enforcement trying to close the case, and by Priscilla, played by Annette Bening, a ruthless crime boss who also happens to be Lucky's mother-in-law.
That family connection is where a lot of the show's tension comes from. Drew Starkey plays Cary, Lucky's husband and the actual link between her and Priscilla's criminal empire, while Timothy Olyphant plays John, Lucky's father, who's spent time behind bars and effectively raised her inside the same criminal world Priscilla now runs.
On the law enforcement side, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor plays FBI agent Billie Rand, the one methodically working the case from the outside, while Clifton Collins Jr. plays Dutch, one of Priscilla's most dangerous associates and one of the biggest immediate threats to Lucky's freedom.
What makes Lucky click is that everyone in it is operating from a different definition of loyalty — Lucky's instinct to run, Priscilla's instinct to control, John's complicated legacy, Cary's in-too-deep devotion, and Billie's methodical patience — and none of them are fully wrong about how to survive this world.
So are you thinking on your feet like Lucky, running things like Priscilla, shaped by the past like John, all-in on family like Cary, or playing it straight like Billie? Answer honestly and find out which Lucky character you actually are.
