Nezuko fights beside him now rather than simply being protected, having grown from a demon her brother had to shield into an active combatant with abilities of her own. Zenitsu and Inosuke, the story's comic relief turned genuine powerhouses, both get moments that reframe everything the earlier, funnier arcs set up about them, while Giyu Tomioka represents the disciplined, veteran end of the Hashira roster, a fighter whose restraint has always concealed real depth of feeling.

Part of what makes the Infinity Castle arc land so hard for longtime viewers is how deliberately the series has withheld payoff up to this point. Characters introduced in passing during the Mugen Train and Entertainment District arcs return here with their full backstories in play, and the shifting castle setting means the show can cut between multiple duels happening simultaneously, each raising the stakes on the others. It is the kind of arc that rewards having watched everything that came before it, which is a large part of why it arrived with so much anticipation attached.

If you are new to the franchise, the Infinity Castle films are still a strong entry point on their own merits: gorgeous animation, genuinely high stakes, and a cast whose central conflict, choosing compassion in a world that keeps punishing it, has resonated across languages and demographics in a way few shonen stories manage.
