Which Terrifier Character Are You?

Learn More About Terrifier

Terrifier has grown from a gruesome indie short into one of the most talked-about horror franchises of the decade. Written and directed by Damien Leone, the series introduced the world to Art the Clown, a mute, grinning killer whose pantomime antics make him both hilarious and horrifying.

Art first appeared in short films and in All Hallows' Eve before getting his own feature in 2016. The sequel, Terrifier 2, arrived in 2022 and became a word-of-mouth sensation, with audiences reporting fainting fits and walkouts. Terrifier 3, released in late 2024, set box office records for an unrated horror movie and cemented Art as a modern slasher icon.

David Howard Thornton's performance is a major reason for the franchise's success. Without speaking, he conveys mischief, cruelty, and a bizarre kind of charm through gesture and expression. Fans debate whether he is a demon, a ghost, or something else entirely, and the lore has only deepened with each installment.

Opposite Art stands Sienna Shaw, introduced in Terrifier 2 as a young woman whose dreams and destiny are tied to a legendary heroine. Her brother Jonathan, her mother Barbara, and later her allies provide the emotional core. Meanwhile Victoria Heyes, known as Vicky, is the lone survivor of the first film, and her sister Tara and Dawn Walters add personality and tension to the world.

The franchise is notorious for its practical effects, with makeup artist work that fans cite as a throwback to classic slashers. But the characters are what keep audiences returning. Each one represents a different reaction to terror, from defiance to creativity to simple determination to stay alive.
