Learn More About Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is the Disney+ series that introduced Kamala Khan to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2022. It follows a teenager from Jersey City who loves superheroes, writes fan fiction about the Avengers and discovers that she has powers of her own. The show won over fans with its vibrant style, humor and heartfelt look at family, faith and identity.

Iman Vellani stars as Kamala, a role she plays with infectious enthusiasm, and the series launched her into the MCU spotlight. Matt Lintz plays her best friend Bruno Carrelli, the inventor who helps her understand her abilities, while Yasmeen Fletcher plays Nakia Bahadir, a friend who is deeply involved in her community. Together they give the series a believable, warm friend group.

Family is a huge part of the story. Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapur play Kamala's parents, and Saagar Shaikh plays her brother Aamir, bringing humor and tenderness to scenes of everyday life. Rish Shah plays Kamran, a charming character with ties to the story's larger mystery, and Nimra Bucha plays Najma, who adds a more dangerous layer to the plot.

The series is notable for its visual style, using animated overlays and comic-book touches to show how Kamala sees the world. It also draws on the character's comic book origins, where Kamala Khan debuted in 2013 and became a fan favorite. The show reimagines her powers for the screen while keeping the spirit that made her special.

Kamala went on to appear in the 2023 film The Marvels, joining Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau, which expanded her place in the MCU. For fans, the appeal is simple: she feels like one of us, a fan who suddenly gets to join the heroes she looked up to.
