Which Good Omens Character Are You?

Learn More About Good Omens

Good Omens is the Prime Video fantasy comedy about an angel and a demon who have spent so long on Earth that they would rather stop the apocalypse than see it happen. It adapts the 1990 novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, with Gaiman serving as showrunner on the series, and it has become one of streaming's most beloved odd-couple stories.

At the heart of the show is the friendship between Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen, and Crowley, played by David Tennant. Their chemistry is the reason the series works: one is fussy, kind and endlessly rationalizing, the other is sardonic, restless and quietly devoted. Fans have spent years debating how to describe their relationship, and the show leans into the ambiguity with warmth and humor.

The supporting cast is just as memorable. Anathema Device, introduced in the first season, brings a modern, research-minded energy to a story full of prophecy, while the Heavenly and Hellish bureaucracies are played for laughs by characters like Gabriel and Beelzebub. Jon Hamm's turn as Gabriel in the second season, in particular, gave the show one of its most talked-about storylines.

The first season arrived in 2019 and the second followed in 2023, expanding the world beyond the book while keeping its tone of gentle absurdity. The series is also praised for its production design, from Aziraphale's cluttered bookshop to Crowley's sleek flat, and for a soundtrack that treats Queen like a recurring character.

Much of the show's appeal comes from its mix of comedy and sincerity. It is a story about an apocalypse, yet the stakes are really about friendship, free will and whether people are capable of choosing kindness. That balance is why viewers keep returning to it, and why a personality quiz built around its cast is such a natural fit.
