Which Evil Dead Burn Character Are You?

Learn More About Evil Dead Burn

Evil Dead Burn is a 2026 supernatural horror film directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who co-wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard. It arrived in United States theaters on July 10, 2026, and continues the long-running Evil Dead franchise that began with Sam Raimi’s cult classic. Raimi and Rob Tapert produced through their Ghost House Pictures banner, while Bruce Campbell, the franchise’s most famous face, served as an executive producer. Lee Cronin, who directed Evil Dead Rise, is also credited as an executive producer.

The story follows Alice Price, played by Souheila Yacoub, who turns to her in-laws for comfort after the death of her husband. The family gathers at a secluded house, where Joseph, played by Hunter Doohan, discovers research left behind by his late grandfather about the Necronomicon and the flesh-possessing demons known as Deadites. When he interferes with the protections on an ancient weapon, the Kandarian Dagger, what began as a quiet family gathering turns into a night of terror.

Alice is the film’s protagonist. According to the franchise wiki, she was born and raised in Paris and has aspirations of becoming a photographer, and she met her husband William, played by George Pullar, when he came to France to study cooking. As an outsider who married into the Price family, she sees the household with a sharper and more skeptical eye than the people who grew up in it, which makes her the natural center of the story.

The rest of the Price family is a memorable ensemble. Tandi Wright plays Susan Price, the mother, while Erroll Shand plays Edgar, the father. A fun piece of trivia from the franchise wiki is that Edgar took Susan’s surname when they married, and the film’s creators have never explained why. Maude Davey plays Polly Price, the family’s elderly grandmother, and Luciane Buchanan appears as Thya. Each character fills a distinct role, which is what makes a personality quiz about them so natural.

The mythology behind the family adds another layer. Susan’s father, Professor Benjamin Price, an ancient history professor voiced by Michael Hurst, belonged to a secret society called the Circle of the Wise Men, a group devoted to studying evil and keeping it out of the mortal world. His recorded log entries warn that the Necronomicon is real and that reading from it unleashed demons. That backstory ties the family’s private tensions directly to the supernatural threat.

The film was shot in New Zealand, with filming reported between July and October 2025, and runs 109 minutes. Wikipedia lists it as a New Zealand and United States co-production. Critical reaction was generally positive, with a 71 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it reportedly grossed about 72 million dollars worldwide against a 20 million dollar budget, a strong result for a horror release.
