Which Jimmy Neutron Character Are You?

Learn More About Jimmy Neutron

Jimmy Neutron first appeared in the 2001 animated film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. The Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius followed in 2002 and ran through 2006, following a ten-year-old inventor in the town of Retroville.

The premise is classic: Jimmy builds incredible gadgets, such as a shrink ray and a flying machine, but his inventions often cause chaos that he has to fix. The humor comes from his enormous ego colliding with real-world consequences, and the show's style, with chunky 3D animation and bold colors, was distinctive for its time.

Jimmy's best friends are Carl Wheezer, a sweet, asthmatic llama enthusiast, and Sheen Estevez, a hyperactive fan of the fictional superhero Ultra Lord. Their friendship adds warmth to the show, and Sheen's over-the-top energy produced a lot of the funniest moments.

Then there is Cindy Vortex, Jimmy's sharp-tongued classmate and rival. The pair constantly argue, compete and one-up each other, hiding a mutual attraction that the series teased for years. Libby Folfax, Cindy's best friend, adds humor and attitude, rounding out the friend group.

Another favorite is Goddard, Jimmy's robot dog, who transforms into a range of useful tools. Goddard is a perfect example of how the show mixed science, jokes and heart, and the pup helped make merchandise and spinoff stories a hit.

The series also spun off Planet Sheen in 2010, which followed Sheen after he accidentally travels to an alien planet. Fans still talk about the show's catchy theme and the iconic hair that made Jimmy instantly recognizable.
