Which Big Time Rush Character Are You?

Learn More About Big Time Rush

Big Time Rush premiered on Nickelodeon in November 2009 and followed four hockey players from Minnesota who are plucked from obscurity and moved to Los Angeles to form a boy band. The show blended sitcom comedy with real pop music, and the cast actually released albums and toured as a real group.

The band was made up of Kendall Schmidt as Kendall Knight, James Maslow as James Diamond, Carlos PenaVega as Carlos Garcia and Logan Henderson as Logan Mitchell. Each had a clear personality: Kendall the dependable leader, James the heartthrob, Carlos the daredevil and Logan the sensible brain. That clear split made the show easy to love and even easier to turn into a personality quiz.

Behind the scenes of the fictional group was Gustavo Rocque, the loud, hard-driving record producer played by Stephen Kramer Glickman. His constant catchphrase-filled outbursts were a comedic highlight, and Kelly Wainwright, the band's calm assistant, kept everything from falling apart. Together they gave the boys a comic foil and a surrogate family in Hollywood.

The series ran for four seasons through 2013, and several songs, including Boyfriend and Worldwide, became hits for a young audience. A TV movie, Big Time Movie, extended the story and gave fans a new adventure with the band.

After the show ended, the group split, but they reunited in 2021 with a tour and new music. Their comeback proved how much love there still is for the series and drew in a new generation of fans through streaming and social media.
